Is the idea implausible that this same Obama administration that orders IRS attacks, then orders destruction of key evidence, would stop at nothing to save Obama’s signature achievement? Is it impossible to believe that Obama and his socialist cabal that learned from Saul Alinsky that “the ends justify the means” would hold something over a Supreme Court justice’s head?...
Just blackmail one or two key conservative leaders to stop the GOP from blocking Obama’s agenda. Just find out the weak link of a key opposition leader or government official and hold it over their heads. It’s that simple...
Am I being too cynical? Really? Did anyone suspect former House Speaker Dennis Hastert was a child molester who commited crimes with underage boys? No, no, I'm stuffed, positively stuffed...
Still hasn't had actual sex yet, I see. (Yeah, but would you rather believe he had, and still wrote that tweet?) As a digestif, how about some more-sorrow-than-anger nonsense from Matt Lewis:
The upsetting thing is that Roberts was essentially the poster child for what a conservative nominee was supposed to be — that is, if we were to avoid another stealth nominee (like Souter) or a failed one (like Robert Bork). Conservatives invested a lot of effort into creating the infrastructure that would incubate a young John Roberts — and then actually get him confirmed. His end of the bargain? Simply being the kind of justice who honors the rule of law and doesn’t legislate from the bench… And now this happens. We raised him, incubated him to be impartial -- yet he ruled for someone other than us! That's it, next time we're using a Skinner Box. Also: To be fair, I haven't read the entire opinion, but I'm guessing Flopping Aces' hed "The Roberts Court renders all laws meaningless as written" is figurative.
This has all made me a bit light-headed; maybe I should steady myself with something dry and dull, like crackers, or this press release:
ObamaCare Decision Raises Issues Of Justices' Impeachment, Explains Larry KlaymanWell, that's it for me.
....Freedom Watch has grown especially concerned about the independence of the Supreme Court due to reports from a whistleblower that private information about Chief Justice John Roberts, and other judges and justices, were "harvested' illegally by the U.S. Government. Although it is illegal for the Central Intelligence Agency to operate within the domestic United States, a contractor whose company was hired to perform the "harvesting" for the CIA has come forward to blow the whistle. He claims to have proof that the CIA harvested personal and private information about Roberts and other federal judges and may be intimidating or subtly threatening the U.S. Supreme Court with the fear of personal attacks...Hear that, Wayne? You've got some backup! Now we just need Sarah Palin or a backwoods preacher to step up and that'll make three, and we'll have a legit "questions remain" for Meet The Press.
...
ReplyDeleteSpeaking as a liberal nothing would terrify or enrage me more than the impeachment of John Roberts.
ReplyDeleteSeems to me that Skinner Box worked pretty well on Clarence Thomas.
ReplyDeleteI filled a plastic bottle with conservative tears, carbonated it with a Sodastream, added bitters, and drank deeply.
ReplyDelete"Did anyone suspect former House Speaker Dennis Hastert was a child molester who commited crimes with underage boys?"
ReplyDeleteI did! I did! During Foley-gate, something- and by that I mean *everything*- rubbed me the wrong way about Hastert. Reading up on his background (it's always boys' sports with these types, I swear) sealed the deal for me.

Roberts and Kennedy, too! I see no problem with Obama and Hillary appointing 5 new justices. Well, they would still be too pro-corporate, but they would be better on many issues.
ReplyDeleteI thought the NSA did the illegal intelligence harvesting. My sekrit conservative decode ring must be on the fritz again
ReplyDeleteIs that a young Antonin Scalia puffing on that fag?
ReplyDeleteWheels within wheels.
It would never occur to these people that John Roberts ruled the way he did because of his conservatism, not in spite of it. Both of his ACA rulings are fine examples of principled judicial restraint. They are conservative in the most admirable sense of the word.
ReplyDeleteThe CIA has been caught spying domestically, so it's not an unreasonable supposition that SC justices could be spied upon. What is an unreasonable supposition is that anyone in the CIA would want devote any time at all to the mildly-drunken pillow talk of Clarence and Ginny Thomas.
ReplyDeleteHas there been the softest, tiniest, whisper of a peep about all the dough ($$$$$$$$) the medical insurance corporations are making with Obamacare, and would LOSE if Obamacare was repealed?
ReplyDeleteThat was my only hope for SCOTUS ruling for Obamacare.
Ordinarily I leave cruising the right-wing sites to pros like Mr Edroso, but I made an exception today and checked out RedState. They are so fucking angry! It's a joy. The calmer heads are calling for Roberts' impeachment, while the real ragers want to see him assassinated.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until they figure out who's really to blame for Chief Justice Roberts -- that incompetent liberal nitwit, George Bush.
Please don't throw him in a briar-patch!
ReplyDeleteHaven't we already heard Justice Thomas' pillow talk at the Anita Hill hearings?
ReplyDeleteOT other than the mention of Glenn Beck: If I were to do an in-depth analysis (a la Left Behind) of Beck's Agenda 21, would there be any interest in that? And let's say that I was a crazy person who already had a dozen or so updates sitting on his hard drive.
ReplyDeleteA high school wrestling coach with the hots for hunky young lads? Preposterous!
ReplyDeleteGeorge Bush? Who's that? Huh?
ReplyDeleteWe're talking about people with an attention span of the average fruit fly. They'll always remember the grudge, but the reason for it will have disappeared with their next bowel movement.
Comments at Beck's house of nuts are golden:
ReplyDelete"This is dead simple. Justice Roberts has two adopted children. There were some shenanigans getting the adoption paper work done. The threat against him is not actually against him but against his adopted daughters that could be deported which would also devastate his wife and him. So, yes, Obama is blackmailing him with deporting his daughters. Pure Alinsky – can’t attack the man so attack his family and a strong family commitment then becomes his achille’s heel.
Keep in mind how the Obama administration handles deportations. They enforce the law selectively. Illegal immigrant rapists and murders are let loose on the streets but cross them and your adopted children will be deported.
This is all documented. I saw an article somewhere some time after the first Obamacare decision that was butchered by Roberts about his adopted children. Do the research. It’s there. But it was a back page little blurb that could have been blown up into a national scandal and possibly have removed Roberts from the bench. But nothing came of it. Why? Because they knew they would need it again later.
Now apply this to Boehner, McConnell, military leaders, anyone at all that gets in the way. Make them an offer they can’t refuse."
" I saw an article somewhere some time...."
ReplyDeleteFuckin' priceless.
FWD:FWD:FWD:FWD:FWD:FWD
ReplyDeleteIt's all very funny, but screw the big donors, conservative politicians and wingnut welfare think tanks who foster this breed of batshit, separating these peoples' pockets from their money and their brains from common sense.
Penthouse Forum ain't what it used to be...
ReplyDeleteI would be interested, although with the caveat that I eventually gave up on Fred Clark's Left Behind series because he quoted so extensively it kind of just felt like I was actually reading the damn things.
ReplyDeleteLaugh if you must at these "conspiracy theorist." But the only thing that has so far stopped Obama from bumping off Scalia is the suspicion that would be aroused by the sudden death of an obese chain-smoker barely into his late seventies.
ReplyDeleteSo refreshing!
ReplyDeleteIt goes with everything.
ReplyDeleteWait. Wasn't it Obama's daughters who were adopted because Michelle is a hemale and they needed babies to fool everyone into thinking they were a cis het couple so their plot to take over America, simmering since the phony birth announcements were placed in Honolulu newspapers in 1961, could roll forward?
ReplyDeleteGosh. I guess it's time to drag out the argle-bargle about !!ACTIVIST JUDGES!! and the necessity for civil war because shut up we didn't get our way.
ReplyDeleteToo bad I can't listen to Limbaugh tomorrow.
Well, um, I can, I have a portable radio and all, but, um, I, um, I have to wax the cat tomorrow. Yeah, that's it. He needs it.
I see they're just as good as ever at sourcing their comments.
ReplyDeleteCan dogs drink wingnut tears?
ReplyDelete'Cause it'd be nice to skip a trip or two to the park to load up on water.
Of course, my luck, it'd be like chocolate or something.

ReplyDeleteHave fun.
Jeb! really should be required to commit to a list of pre-approved SCOTUS nominees now to ensure that Dubya's muddlesome ways aren't perpetuated in a Bush3 administration.
ReplyDeleteThe Constitution doesn't require justices be lawyers, by the way, so Jeb! could promise to nominate bright lights of the right like Jonah Goldberg, who has already proven many times over that he could compose the most amazing Supreme Court decisions ever in U.S. history fer sure.
I see they're hauling out the "voter too stupid" tape again in retaliation.
ReplyDelete'Cause, fuck knows the GOP relies on the voter's intelligence.
I will clean my screen in your honor, sir, before beginning to read such a worthy document.
ReplyDeleteWhar ahm from, waxing the cat's only legal if yer married and regular church goers.
ReplyDeleteHe claims to have proof that the CIA harvested personal and private

He has proof they may be?
Easiest kind of proof to get!
ReplyDelete...
ReplyDeleteAh do b'leeve, suh, the secret writin' in the Second Amendment reserves the ***FREEDOM*** of Ahmericuns to wax their cat when and where they wish!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a decision that began with the words, "Now maybe I'm wrong ...
ReplyDeleteAlthough it is illegal for the Central Intelligence Agency to operate within the domestic United States
ReplyDeleteOh, WELL, worry about it now, why doncha? Horse, barn door, etc.
Full disclosure: I've made a couple of shekels myself.
ReplyDelete"NICE COMMENT, PRETTY BOY"
ReplyDeleteStill, it's hard to believe that sentient beings would put so many eggs in such a flimsy basket.
ReplyDeleteHey, so do I.
ReplyDelete....within wheels, within wheels...
ReplyDeleteAw right, I'm just going to sit and wait for the image Smut Clyde's going to post here...
ReplyDeleteUmm, to a healthy percentage of them, Dick and Jane is about all the complication they can handle.
ReplyDelete"Justice Goldberg wrote a separate dissent... concurring opinion... well, ok, we're not quite sure, but his sadly harassed-looking clerk turned in a thin manuscript which had things to say on both sides smelled and vaguely of cheetos and cabbage"
ReplyDeleteThe troll who passes on some idiotic story and you ask for a link and he replies indignantly "Do your own research!"
ReplyDeleteOr one crowdsourced from NRO readers. That'd read like "America's Id Goes to Law School."
ReplyDeleteSorry, Sarah Palin's going to be busy for the next nine months or so. There's a new grandkid on the way!
ReplyDeletea contractor whose company was hired to perform the "harvesting" for the CIA has come forward to blow the whistleTotally anonymous untraceable whistleblowers are the best and bravest kind.
ReplyDeleteIt's public record!
ReplyDeleteSo the agency blackmailing Roberts must have been A.R.G.U.S., led by superhero wonk Jonathan Gruber, Master of the Known Universe!
ReplyDelete"Totally anonymous untraceable whistleblowers ^waving invisible documentation^ are the best and bravest kind."
ReplyDeleteI have strong evidence that Ben Shapiro took a goat to his Red Room of Pain and then alternatively tortured it and made love to it until it complied. The last 19 words of his tweet are a verbatim transcript of his words and I will offer as his admission of guilt. Words have meaning people.
ReplyDeleteI know, I read about them in an article somewhere once. Only I'm not allowed to tell you.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm envisioning the creature from Forbidden Planet with a legal pad.
ReplyDelete"RAWWWWR! RAAWWWWR! NOLO CONTENDRE! RAWWWR!"

ReplyDeleteHer conception notice was complete with a "no lectures" and "maybe a get off my back, America, sheesh."
ReplyDeleteTwo kids, no man. Ordinarily we would find no shame but the Palins wouldn't be happy with that immoral hippy horsesht. Shame away!
Does this mean she needs to give her abstinence speech fees back?
He claims to have proof that the CIA harvested personal and private information about Roberts and other federal judges and may be intimidating or subtly threatening the U.S. Supreme Court with the fear of personal attacks...
ReplyDeleteRoberts done knocked up Bristol Palin. You just wait. she's gonna name that young'un "Chief."
The activists, Nino, Thomas and Alito, lost this one.
ReplyDeleteLet the guessing games begin. Meanwhile the Dominoes delivery guy heads for Mexico.
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult to copy paste a link on your own ass.
ReplyDeleteJustice Jonah Goldberg?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Bristol Palin is knocked up again.
ReplyDelete+1 amazing
ReplyDeleteWTF!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I feel sorry for that kid, having it's entry into the world marked by its mother calling it a "huge disappointment."
ReplyDeleteIf you're going to keep the baby, just announce with great joy that it's wanted and precious and you're filled with happiness. Don't trot out your shame for the world to see. What is wrong with that girl?
Speak for yourself.
ReplyDeleteOh, it's probably from the Medal of Honor winner she was dating, with whom she had a big blow-up just before the wedding. Chances are the guy was a little slow at the switch and didn't realize until the last moment who his mother-in-law was going to be.
ReplyDeleteSo was it the runaway husband? Or someone else?
ReplyDeleteObama should strongly oppose the impeachment of Roberts.
ReplyDeleteCorrect me if I'm wrong, but didn't these guys set the stage for the whole "Roberts as blackmail victim" thing a year or two ago?
ReplyDeleteOh, christ, there's going to another one.
ReplyDelete"Do the research. It’s there."
ReplyDeleteStudy it out, sheeple!
