Dame Noonington's hate-on for Obama has engorged to the point where she's comparing him unfavorably to Jimmy Carter. If we invade Syria, expect Noonan to pen a column from the POV of Bashar al-Assad, who will have mellowed becomingly with age, and whose personal happiness she will posit as the real reason that emotional cripple in the White House is after him.
I'm not going to read it, but someone tell me if I'm close:
ReplyDelete"In times like this we need a leader; but that's exactly what Obama isn't doing. Reagan was a leader. He knew how to lead people, and he wanted to lead people. And he knew that being a leader wasn't just telling everybody what to do, it meant patient explanation and necessary compromise, and that's how we knew that God had blessed us when He put Reagan in the White House, because we knew that he would always listen, always look for opportunity to make things better. Reagan, I mean, not God. Not that god hasn't been listening, I'm not saying that. I'm saying, where is this from Obama? Where is the leadership? Where is the patience? Where is the compromise? There's just ego, and speech-making, and lecturing, while the people suffer. I've got five hundred more words to fill here, and I'm not at all sure there's enough whiskey to get me through it, but . . . ."
Well, what a surprise--a metric shitload of Nooners stating the crushingly ]obvious ("But to the point. Mr. Obama was elected because he wasn't [the guy who fucked things up. Mr. Bush is popular now because he's not the guy who gets blamed for everything]. The wheel turns, doesn't it?")*, and completely oblivious to her own bigotry:
ReplyDeleteBack to the point. What was nice was that all of them—the Bush family, the Carters and Clintons—seemed like the old days. "The way we were." They were full of endurance, stamina, effort. Also flaws, frailty, mess. But they weren't . . . creepy.
Creepy? Why not just say "uppity", Peg? You know you want to. C'mon. Go for it. The odds that a paper that would publish someone like James Taranto would fire you for it are slim at best.
*And what meaning does an "approval rating" for someone who seems to have done nothing with his life post-presidency but slop some oils on a canvas with the same cheerful indifference to results as his policies even mean? (Aside from the utterly unshocking news that, subtracting the proverbial 27% crazification factor, maybe one-fifth of those polled have painfully short memories.)
George W. Bush was full of many things, but "endurance, stamina, effort"? Or is Noonington just being in-your-face with that, lampshading her complete unconcern with external reality?
ReplyDeleteAmazingly, she didn't invoke Reagan even once. Not that it made the bilge she did write any more palatable.
ReplyDeleteIf Dickens were alive today and penning the motto for the Bush era, to be engraved over the entrance to his lieberry, it would go something like this:
ReplyDelete"It was the worst of times; it was the worst of times."
That's really astonishing, because it suggests she recognizes how close she comes to self-parody every column, and is consciously trying to avoid it. I would not have thought her capable of that degree of self-awareness. It's like seeing Skynet attain sentience.
ReplyDeleteHistory's newest, greatest monster is clearly Disqus.
ReplyDelete~
W is not creepy? Tell that to Angela Merkel. Or any bald guy who ever got within arm's reach.
ReplyDeleteIdentical approval ratings for Bush and Obama.
ReplyDeleteNo liberal journalist has been able to explain that phenomenon with any kind of intellectual honesty so far.
You're talking about someone who is so utterly lacking in self-awareness she wrote about getting hot and bothered over Reagan's foot.
ReplyDeleteHere you go:
ReplyDeleteIt's because a substantial portion of our population consists of the kind of moron who would vote for G.W. Bush.
~
Dennis: Look up the word "transient".
ReplyDeleteThe WSJ killed a lot of cats to generate that bounce.
ReplyDeleteDoc, look up intellectual honesty. Go meditate for ten minutes, then come back and pretend you aren't posting on a far-left liberal blog where you're afraid everyone will think less of you if you say something half-way reasonably fair-minded.
ReplyDeleteWe're not laughing with you. We're laughing at you.
ReplyDeleteNow go and complain that Colbert and Stewart are not giving unbiased news reports.
"Barack Obama was elected president in 2008 because he was not George W. Bush."
ReplyDeleteLittle-known fact: both John McCain and Mitt Romney are actually George W. Bush. Even lesser-known fact: HILLZ IS W-BUSH TOO!
If we invade Syria, expect Noonan to pen a column from the POV of Bashar al-Assad, who will have mellowed becomingly with age, and whose personal happiness she will posit as the real reason that emotional cripple in the White House is after him.
ReplyDelete"Murderous dictators are the real job creators!"
Oh, crap this line could be used to defend Donald Adair as well as Bashar al-Assad.
Back to the point. What was nice was that all of them—the Bush family, the Carters and Clintons—seemed like the old days. "The way we were." They were full of endurance, stamina, effort.
ReplyDeleteAnd they weren't full of melanin!
Oh, she was comparing him to Carter as far back as '09:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.peggynoonan.com/article.php?article=485
**SHUDDER** Did you have to bring that up?
ReplyDeleteIt's also due to the fact that the Bush years have been stuffed down the memory hole, while the noise machine invests much of its efforts towards demonizing President Obama. History is being rewritten as we speak.
ReplyDeleteOh I don't know, my approval of his not being president isn't going away anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteSo... George W. Bush is kinda like Spartacus?
ReplyDeleteObama's job approval rating is now at 49-51% (depending on the poll -- this is actually a couple of points higher than George W. Bush's retrospective approval rating, i.e., not identical). He is currently in office and thus on the job. George W. Bush's on the job approval rating at the end of his second term in October of 2008 was 25%. Now that's a legitimate comparison. To compare Obama's current job approval rating to how people perceive Bush now almost five years out of office is pretty meaningless. Otherwise, Jimmy Carter's job approval out of office was at one point vastly higher than Ronald Reagan's on the job.
ReplyDeleteThat's what makes the 47% approval fascinating, tigrismus. Same with the intensity numbers.
ReplyDeleteOh look a baby has come to pout and scream. Sorry you hitched your wagon to a train of failure, shouty baby!
ReplyDeleteGo meditate for ten minutes
ReplyDeleteYeah, just calm the fuck down, willya Doc? Just observe how calmly and coolly Dennis posts 250 trolling comments in this thread over the next 8 hours. You can learn a thing or two from him about keeping things in perspective.
Does the little MOTU/cubicle serf need some attention on a Friday?
ReplyDeletePut down the iPad and get back to work, Dwight.
Well, I'm going to go out on a limb and note that 47% is exactly the same percentage of the popular vote that Mitt Romney took home. So 47% is pretty much the percentage of people who'd rather have a Republican--any Republican, even as big an empty suit as Romney--over a Democrat. Those folks would rather have Bush back, no matter what they were saying about him in 2008.
ReplyDeleteHonest enough for you, Dennis?
Now that you've patiently handed Dennis' ass to him on a platter - and Noonan's hers, for that matter [shudder] I'd like to offer that it just occurred to me that Peggy Noonan is a drunken Grima Wormtongue.
ReplyDeleteAs far as her role as pundit she doesn't teach us anything by extrapolating data, she doesn't have keen insights on current topics, she doesn't even have novel if disturbing contrarian arguments. Her entire schtick consists of fawning over the past with flowery language and using those reminisces to obfuscate the present. Period. End of story. And this is why Jeffrey Kramer upthread can so masterfully imitate her and predict what she's written without even having read her piece. It's always the same.
During W's interminable terms, we who suffered from so-called "Bush Derangement Syndrome" were enraged about things he actually said and did.
ReplyDeleteNow, those hounding Obama from the right are largely driven by outrages that are completely fabricated, wildly distorted, or just plain hallucinatory -- while we on the Left are enraged by things he actually says and does. *Sigh*
Yeah, notice how Libya's modern history retroactively changed once Obama moved from "coddling dictators" to "helping to overthrow one"? Now in between all the spittle-flecked shrieks of "BENGHAZI," we can pretty much infer that we could use a man like Muammar al-Gaddafi again.
ReplyDeleteTough day hunting with the kids on Facebook today, DA? Or do you have to wait till school's out for them?
ReplyDeletesharculese, I rarely see you step up to the plate to discuss and debate the topic and hand. You have the intelligence but the self-confidence is lacking. You're sharp with the attacks that are commonplace when a dissenting opinion arrives, but it's clear that's just a front. I honestly think you're better than that.
ReplyDeleteAnd I honestly think you're a dumb try-hard who should see someone about his creepy passive-aggressive streak!
ReplyDeleteHis approval rating at the end of his term was 33%, not 25%
ReplyDeleteYes, he was dishonest by using the phrase end of his term 2008, which was in the few months at the end of Bush's term.
Donna Brazile is a faintly liberal commentator who hasn't done anything political for years except appear on TV.
If you really think I'm a pedophile, Dennis, you should report me to the appropriate authorities. You won't because you're a cowardly sort.
ReplyDeleteIs there any chance at all you'll be saying something about the topic here, sharculese? Or should I just give up now?
ReplyDeleteshould I just give up now
ReplyDeleteAs a general rule? Yeah probably. In this particular instance? Idk man, I'm not your fucking therapist.
It's not illegal to stalk kids' Facebook pages like you've admitted to doing, DA, it's just very, very weird.
ReplyDeleteThose hounding Obama from the right are, often as not, recycling complaints liberals had about Bush.
ReplyDeleteYes, he was dishonest by using the phrase end of his term 2008, which was in the few months at the end of Bush's term. Yeah, when the end of Bush's term was 2009 and his approval was 8 pts higher than the low point 3 months prior, it was dishonest, Stalker DA.
ReplyDeleteYou're the one using the term pedophile on the Sadly, No! thread, Dennis. I'm glad to see that you can't even owe up to your own words there. It reveals just what kind of sick, twisted, vicious conservative you are. Go peddle your puke somewhere else and get off the iPad, Dwight.
ReplyDeleteHe chose the low point on purpose,
ReplyDeleteAnd said when it was low, and of course, anyone who didn't know that he wasn't referring to Jan 2009 was fool in to thinking that GWB had a little more than a quarter of the country behind him, when the truth was that it was a whole 1/3rd of the country. And that's not allowing for MoE, which would tell you with 2% variance, the scores could've been closer or further apart by as much as 4%.
Look, Dennis, I know you get offended by the existence of people who wouldn't get a stiffie about GWB and RMoney, but there are more of us than folks on your side. Get used to it.
I feel you, brother. Er... metaphorically, that is.
ReplyDeleteSurely you have an opinion on the blog topic, no, sharculese? Maybe if you googled it?
ReplyDeleteYou can be a pedophile and not be breaking the law. Your urges are not illegal, per se, DA, fortunately enough for you. And neither is cruising kids' FB pages that you don't know.....again, fortunately for you. It's just very, very, very creepy.
ReplyDeleteI would rather be funny than whatever the fuck it is you want me to be, and all the gross-ass snivel-goading in the world is not going to change that.
ReplyDeleteYou're babbling. The economy was in free-fall from the summer through the fall of 2008, which was a major contributor to the dip in approval. mortimer was dishonest in highlighting that number when it was irrelevant to his argument, and incorrect in saying 'at the end of his term in 2008'.
ReplyDeleteI'd just like to hear your opinion on the blog topic for once. That shouldn't intimidate you. I've just never understood people who hang out on liberal blogs and comment as if the blog comments area was like a cheering section at a basketball game.
ReplyDeleteYou're stroking the screen right now, aren't you?
ReplyDeleteAnd I've never understood why people think this sort of passive-aggressive goading is going to produce anything other than condescending contempt.
ReplyDeletea far-left liberal blog
ReplyDeleteRepeated for emphasis.
Well, if you wish to buff my bald noggin with coconut oil (in a totes hetero way), I'll make an exception.
ReplyDelete"endurance, stamina, effort"
ReplyDeleteWhat was the longest unbroken period Bush spent at the office between holidays?
Would that be the economy that was in freefall under W's watch?
ReplyDeleteOr can you use some of those "statistical stylings" of yours to blame it on Obama?
Oh... _do_ please try! :)
That he's a retard?
ReplyDeleteNow, now, let's not denigrate the handicapped by comparing them to Dubya.
ReplyDelete"half-way reasonably fair-minded"? Try hitting that mark yourself, sport, even once.
ReplyDeleteshhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteThe "creepy", I assume, is Noonan's version of a currently-popular talking point -- Obama is too professional, doesn't emote enough, makes rational decisions rather than emotional ones. In short, he has failed to be an angry black man, so they complain of the lack of overt anger.
ReplyDeleteall of them—the Bush family, the Carters and Clintons—seemed like the old days.
This from the author of "The Case Against Hillary Clinton"; the author of the phrase "Bill Clinton was the political version of a cow's head in formaldehyde". It is entertaining to bring up her old columns and see how much she hated Clinton as a president, but now she is in love with Clinton and she has always been in love with Clinton.
Yes, my inherent liberal dishonesty made me not only label October of 2008 "at the end of Bush's term" (as opposed to "at the beginning" or "in the middle"), but my cheap, lazy deceit made me blatantly insult astute readers such as yourself by using the phrase "in October of 2008" to deliberately throw you off. My liberal cunning also made me pick a number that was lower by a few percentage points than the exact moment Bush left office which changes everything.
ReplyDeleteIn my defense, I can only say I took my cue from the dishonest LIEberal who wrote this:
When Bush left office, his approval rating was down in the 20s to low 30s.
Tell it to any Clintons standing near to Bush after he's just shaken hands with a Haitian and therefore feels the need to wipe his hand.
ReplyDeleteOr any woman in a sweater when he needs a kleenex.
* Veiled glasses-cleaning reference.
The past, for Noonan, is another country, so we might as well lie about it in the lead-up to invading it and stealing its oil.
ReplyDeleteIt seems you haven't been reading nearly enough wingnut blogs (which means you're probably saner than me). Yes. Yes, there are angry conservatives who will tell you with a straight face that Obama is stupid, uneducated, developmentally disabled, etc. There are wingnuts who think (or say they think) he is the dumbest politician in U.S. history. I'm sure there is a wingnut blogger who insists that Obama literally can't read, and that he has someone reading his teleprompter out loud to him. Half of them say this stuff in a tone of "everyone knows this-- it's obvious, just look at the guy"; the other half sound like they know it's bullshit, but that liberals once said similar things about their guy so now it's their turn, since of course it's all just a big fucking game.
ReplyDeleteWe have always been at war with the dolphins.
ReplyDeleteBut but affirmative action! Suppressed college grades! Ghostwritten books!
ReplyDeleteDennis, why are you fondling the bodies of dead rapist pedophiles? Trying to return your foul spirit to your original body?
ReplyDelete"endurance, stamina, effort"
ReplyDeleteShorter Nooners: sploosh!
How the hell can you be both far-left AND liberal?
ReplyDeleteIf "sploosh" requires endurance, stamina and effort, then very possibly you are doin it rong.
ReplyDeleteI know, and sweet smoochies are yours.
ReplyDeleteYes, Dennis sure won that debate. I can't believe I was so outlandish as to claim that I had seen online wingnuts trash-talking Obama in a ridiculous manner, and that I believed many of them to be insincere, when everyone knows that trash talk is often insincere and that mentioning other people's ridiculous bullshit is exactly the same as making up bullshit of your own. God, I'm so ashamed.
ReplyDeleteI promise I'll stop feeding this troll now.
Don't have an answer to either question, Dennis?
ReplyDeleteWhy am I not surprised?
sharculese, I rarely see you step up to the plate to discuss and debate
ReplyDeletethe topic at hand. You have the intelligence but the self-confidence is
lacking, so you resort to this sort of cheerleader/moderator role.
What with the insomnia and the akvavit and the fugue states, I am sometimes somewhat weirdly behaved, but I take consolation in the knowledge that I am not maintaining little dossiers on the commenting history of other contributors to Alicublog.
Sure, it's creepy, Dennis, just like you calling Dark Avenger out of the blue because you looked up his phone number on the Internet.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder Rebecca is thinking of divorcing your ass next month.
You're half-way towards going postal, Dennis, we all expect some bad news from Norfork, VA involving you and a stolen firearm sometime. Please, get some help before you hurt someone.
ReplyDeleteLast time I checked, October in the last 25% of the year, but thanks for demonstrating what a real moron looks like, especially one from Indiana.
ReplyDeleteThanks for demonstrating what a weaselly idiot Dennis really is.
ReplyDeleteDennis has plenty of people he watches: Actor212, JennofArk, Zython, Dark Avenger, and, of course, his next-door neighbor when she's sleeping and he watches her through her bedroom window.
ReplyDeleteThat is venturing into dossier territory right there.
ReplyDeleteYes, you should respond to Dennis like this is his blog, or something.
ReplyDeleteJust telling the truth, based on Dennis's past history.
ReplyDeleteI haven't kept track of who said what to whom, only that they have all pissed him off in the past for the crime of being a librul who talks back to him.
It's like seeing a hamster pass the Turing test.
ReplyDeleteHa. Add smut clyde to the growing list of liberals who think you're a bizarre stalker freak, DA.
ReplyDeletemortimer was dishonest in highlighting that number
ReplyDeletePeggy Noonan, in the very column Roy's post is about said this:
When Bush left office, his approval rating was down in the 20s to low 30s.
Is she being dishonest, too? Actually, it turns out I was being generous to note Mr. Bush's 25% approval rating in October of 2008, i.e., when he was on the job and not a lame duck. According to a CBS News/New York Times poll of February 11, 2009, his final approval rating was actually 22%. So, sport, I'm right, Noonan is right, and who do you want to call dishonest again?
Add smut clyde to the growing list of liberals who think you're a bizarre stalker freak, DA.
ReplyDeleteThat is unmitigated bullshit which bears no relation to what I wrote. I think you're better than that, Dennis, WHOOPS no I don't.
smut, Yes, I notice it when people like sharculese jump in out of Lurkerland to do nothing but throw out the same trite barbs that are standard fare on blog comment sections; when after about the tenth post no attempt at arguing the blog topic is made by that person. One doesn't need to keep a dossier in those situations; their lack of confidence in addressing the blog topic and pattern of always veering toward a comfort zone of keeping to the inane barbs becomes apparent.
ReplyDeleteYes, Dennis, whoever gains smut clyde's scorn is a loser forever.
ReplyDeleteGAFL.
Thanks for your missives from Lurkerland, Dennis, where it seems you also reside, along with me, and where sharkulese does not, despite what you may think. As a lurker, I, unlike you, apparently, don't keep tabs on who says what so much as I like to just follow the ebb and flow of the conversation, especially when a troll shows up, which is rare, though it does, obviously, happen. But seriously, dude, if you're so interested in what Roy's pals have to say, why not just join the party and be part of the group? They're very funny. I mean, come on: "smut clyde"? Doesn't that make you just want to laugh?
ReplyDeleteIs there any chance at all you'll be saying something about the topic here, Dennis? Or should I just give up now?
ReplyDeleteI rarely see you step up to the plate to discuss and debate the topic at hand. You have the intelligence but the self-confidence is lacking, so you resort to this sort of cheerleader/moderator role.
Surely you have an opinion on the blog topic, no, Dennis? Maybe if you googled it?
I'd just like to hear your opinion on the blog topic for once. That shouldn't intimidate you.
That is quite unfair to Grima. Or do you just mean Grima in the last months in his life? Even then he was at least able to stab Saruman in the back.
ReplyDeleteCripes, way to let us down easy. *sniffle*
ReplyDeleteHe gets a stiffie whenever he thinks of GWB and RMoney, that's the basis of his objection to those of us who don't.
ReplyDeleteOh, Christ! Don't do that! Ewww.
ReplyDelete...coconut oil is really hard to get off a monitor.
Seriously. I'm surprised I didn't get "called out" on my Dickens comment.
ReplyDeleteShorter entire thread: Fuck off, Pennis.
smut, I never understand what it is with your hot tub group, the way you stick together on your assigned blogs, and the sense of loyalty and protection you afford one another when it comes to debating on a political blog.
ReplyDeleteIt's like stepping on a yellow-jacket. The injured bee runs away, and the hive bees swarm.
It's slightly admirable, I guess, but it's also weird.
Average person answering pollster: Bush? He's retired, right? He can't fuck anything else up? OK, then. I approve.
ReplyDeleteDear Troll,
ReplyDeleteDon't confuse not responding to you as avoiding the topic at hand.
Signed,
The sane people on the internet.
Wasn't original. I just smh'd, Jenn. Embarrassed for you now that you're pretending you just thought of it.
ReplyDelete"And now let's play, 'Who Wants to Be a Dick?' Dennis, are you ready? Yes, I can see you are."
ReplyDeleteI haven't been able to contribute to the troll punching because discus isn't working for me. A personal tragedy yesterday keeps me from enjoying the Dennis back and forth, as well. But that also have me the luxury of looking at acdennis troll episode with new eyes and new perspective. I can't link from my iPhone but, at a distance, Dennis seems more like the British guy who just got arrested for trolling the Facebook page of a young, dead, highschooler from a Podunk southern town. This asshole managed to issue the most disgusting and believable violent threats to the local school and send the entire town into lockdown. When caught and arrested the guy basically shrugged his shoulders and said he had wanted to cause the chaos, hurt, and suffering because he could. No motive but motiveless spite. Ditto Adam savader calista gigeriches furry boy toy in an elephant suit. The kid could have downloaded as much Internet poem as he could gap to but his kink was actually focused on (as he saw it) getting those co-Ed bitches to dance to his tune and pay attention to his needs. His constant refrain to his victims that they "must respond within ten minutes" really reminds me of Dennis's hall monitor shtick. He is such a pathetic outsider and self promoted me of de inside
ReplyDeleteSorry. Phone acting up. "Troll provacateur" is the way that should have ended. I'm hardly the one to say this because I always feed the troll but, really, the best way to handle this guy is to not feed him the shit and negative attention he craves. He is one step--possibly right in the middle, of issuing terroristic threats just to see the effect or trying to extort attention by stealing private data. This guy Dennis is, as they used to say, sick in the head. Please steer clear of him. He seems quite disturbed.
ReplyDeleteRe Bush approval:
ReplyDelete"It's the laughter/We will remember/Whenever we remember/The way we were."
Yes, I'm aware of the obvious joke from the word "laughter." However, I was referring to the tendency to let time give our eyeglasses a rosy tint when we look backwards. Like the other song says, "The good old days weren't always good./Tomorrow ain't as bad as it seems."
Christ, what a friendless asshole:
ReplyDeletesmut, I never understand what it is with your hot tub group, the way you stick together on your assigned blogs, and the sense of loyalty and protection you afford one another when it comes to debating on a political blog.
He can't understand that we actually like each other. Fu-uh-uh-uh-uck... if I were such a miserable, friendless putz, I'd take a swan dive off a bridge. I imagine it's the fear of going into that dark eternal night that keeps him from offing himself.
your hot tub group
ReplyDeleteJ'accuzi!
That's actually pretty good.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying that remarks like this aren't a good thing, in and of themselves. Just that we might not want to interact with Dennis as other than a deliberate spoof troll. It feels like being an innocent unwitting member of the audience who rushes onstage when the performer pretends to have a heart attack only to find himself vomited on by an insult/gross out artist as part of the show.
ReplyDeleteHave we really been at war, or have we just been working at cross porpoises?
ReplyDeleteTransporting mynahs? Staid lions? Immortal porpoises? That never happened and anyway we should be looking forward rather than raking up the past.
ReplyDeleteIt's actually an expression horror. He revealed the soul-sucking void at his core. I mean, read the core of his quote with the excess verbiage excised and you get a really tragic message I never understand the way you stick together, and the sense of loyalty and protection you afford one another
ReplyDeleteI would pity him if he weren't so hateful. I try to not to feed the troll, but I don't see him as a deliberate spoof troll (now, that would be Gary Ruppert), I see him as a genuinely disturbed individual.
You are missing the true outrage here, viz. the confusion of different families within the Hymenoptera.
ReplyDeleteIt's like stepping on a yellow-jacket. The injured bee runs away, and the hive bees swarm..
Wasps is not bees. I SAY GOOD-DAY.
Nobody can be as embarrassing as you, Pennis.
ReplyDeleteIt would be better if you were more informed about members of the order Hymenoptera instead of confusing them like the idiot fuck you are.
ReplyDeleteWasn't original.
ReplyDeleteNo shit, Sherlock. Hence the reference to Dickens.
Run, run like a bee!
ReplyDeleteI would like to cling bitterly to all your comments, bbbb, like a Pennsylvanian to his gay guns.
ReplyDeleteBe careful, they're all slathered with coconut oil, so they're slippery.
ReplyDeleteI need to give a shout out to this wonderful new word:snivel-goading. Not only does it sound like s.j.perlmans idea of a good name for an English village but it perfectly describes Dennis himself.
ReplyDeleteNo, the play on Dickens' quote wasn't original, not even as it pertained to Bush's two terms. You were so proud of it you posted it over at Balloon Juice, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd now you say "Seriously. I'm surprised I didn't get "called out" on my Dickens comment"? What's there to call out, the play on his quote has been used so many times now it's not even noteworthy. But you act like you were the original with it. That's just embarrassing...not to mention that you felt you even had to reference Dickens in the first place. Good Lord.
Interesting how many of you guys have suicidal thoughts, Bald Bastard, but I guess if nothing else, it's good to talk openly about them on a political forum. No, the friend thing is fine, what I don't get is that you all think you have to come in to aid someone you see is not doing so well in an honest political disagreement, like ' Gee, one-on-one, my friend is getting his/her rear-end kicked, but I think she just forgot to say a couple things she should have, so I'll go in to help her out so she doesn't look so bad'. And you rarely do it by offering a counter to the political debate, it's usually some pet Freudian thing you've been pondering lately that you want to get off your chest, like you and aimai just did here...."Oh God, Dennis reminds me off [insert some BS psychological theory you have about a recent event that you thought was pure evil]. If I were him, I'd consider getting help, or offing myself."
ReplyDeleteIt's lazy and it's routine. But it is standard fare as far as your group goes.
Just like it's not illegal to look up someone's number and call them up out of the blue, right, Dennis?
ReplyDeleteYou're so funny, Dennis, I forgot to laugh.
ReplyDeleteAnd you take such delight in coming here and telling us what a group mind we have, Dennis.
ReplyDeleteGet out of the house and enjoy life for a change, Denny, instead of being such a downer boi.
Likely you're the one up-voting yourself from the four or five Disqus log-ins you've created. You're pretty much a shunned outsider here, too.
ReplyDeleteLiberals can defend people who stalk kids' Facebook pages, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll invite them to their parties.
Tom Degan: The Rant "The Decade That Wasn't"
ReplyDeleteAnd a special tip of the old fedora to George W. Bush. Anyone who can make me
nostalgic for the likes of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan has a
certain talent, no doubt about it. His entire eight-year-reign seems
almost surreal in hindsight. In a twisted and cynical paraphrasing of
Charles Dickens, "It was the worst of times. It was the worst of times."
Likely you're the one up-voting yourself from the four or five Disqus
ReplyDeletelog-ins you've created. You're pretty much a shunned outsider here,
too.
I see you're using the new Dennis Disqus with 21 comments, Denny. As someone said at Sadly, No!, "It's all about projection, isn't it?"
Yes, I'm not included in the Libruls parties and not allowed in any of their Reindeer games.
Great minds think alike, Dennis, which is why nobody here ever agrees with you :-)
ReplyDeleteFeeble minds copy and paste and pretend they're they're being original, Copypasta DA.
ReplyDeleteJust like you did, Dennis?
ReplyDeleteGood point.
I cited my source, DA the Feeble-minded Child FaceBook Stalker.
ReplyDeleteDA justifying himself: "I was only trying to do some research for my blog, Officer, honest."
ReplyDeleteYou're the one who insists on interacting with someone who is feeble-minded, Dennis.
ReplyDelete23 comments. Yah!
24 comments. Yah!
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious that the friend thing is not ok with Dennis. Whatever he may pretend in his comments there is a huge divide between Dennis and the regular alicublog commenters. We enjoy each others company and he does not. We laugh st each others jokes and he affects to disdain us and our humor entirely. He's like a lactose intolerant diabetic going into a premium ice cream store and having a public melt down because no special ersatz substitute ice cream is available. He could go down the street and get what he needs at a store that caters to diabetics but it seems really important to him to tantrum right here, right now. And also it seems typical of his shtick thst he pretend that his taste for fake ice cream is a high class choice rather than a base and accidental necessity. Dennis: if you have any friends and admirers they aren't here and, speaking only for myself they never will be. Your taste for pooping on the carpet and demanding applause seems somewhat... Problematic. Do you think you might be able to find dome people who like you, poop znd all, or will you continue to show up here to get the attention you crave?
ReplyDeleteNever had a suicidal thought in my life, friendless Dennis. Never spent hours trolling a blog run by people I thought of as enemies either.
ReplyDeleteFriendless Dennis has a funny ring to it, sounds like a Late 70's Stiff Records recording artist.
Just stop it, you two. We love both of you just as much, OK?
ReplyDeleteYou mean 25% when he was in office?
ReplyDeleteWhat did I say? One step from issuing terroristic threats for shits and giggles. Should have taken my own advice. Now I'm in the same boat with every other innocent blog commenter. I've inadvertantly been drawn into Dennis's geek show. Forced to watch him bite the heads of chickens and display his genitalia to the awed crowds.
ReplyDeleteAs for my family. Please little man. My grandmother could have kicked your ass.
As well as anything else that proves they exist.
ReplyDeleteDennis doesn't have much family to speak about, his father ended his days doing impressions of William Henry Harrison to drunken Indiana farmers and other frequenters of the vaudeville.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't hurt a fly, and if you went back over the thread here, you'd see my responses weren't even a tenth as ornery and hateful as what's been thrown at me. And that's nice about your grandmother. The fact is, whatever it is you're trying to do, you're not good at it at all. Every liberal blog is full of people like you who like to play the Freudian psychotherapist from bits and pieces they've read on the internet, throw it out there, then don't like the responses, throw up their hands and say "I never should've bothered with you in the first place. You're probably a terrorist anyway."
ReplyDeleteYou're common, aimai.
Wow, I left here for four hours for a family activity, and then come back here to answer fan mail, and within 12 minutes of my posting you've already responded, like a little terrier puppy dog waiting for it's master, wagging its little tail and panting the whole time
ReplyDeleteIt really is a dependency thing with you, isn't it, Facebook Stalker DA?
The Sagacious Antipodean observes that today is International Act Like a Jack Vance Character Day, therefore, let us cease exchanging obloquies with a pusillanimous mooncalf. Rather, let us create a nuncupatory tapestry of charm and piquancy, a scintilla of syllables to delight and amaze. Troubadour, ply your ukulele and kazoo so that we may engage in corybantic endeavors!
ReplyDeleteIf she could call him a steely-eyed rocket man with a straight face, she is capable of anything.
ReplyDeleteYou're the one who keeps track of Jenn of AR, Actor212, Zython and others, Dennis. You shouldn't be standing waist-high in a dung heap when you throw your shit at other people, Dennis Gene.
ReplyDelete55 Comments. How many identities do you need to post under, Mr Schlacter?
